recruits | Introduction. When they were sixteen years old they would begin to collect money for their gang for the fiestas. They would stipulate a monthly sum and they would go from house to house asking for money and things. With that money they paid the musicians and the food. The gangs of today do not have the same spirit as in those days. They used to measure the height, the weight and the width of the chest and the one who had the lowest measurements was made to feel ashamed. |

festivals | During fiestas they would go to mass in the morning, elegantly dressed with a tie on, and then they would go for a drink before lunch. In the evening after the church service there would be a dance. |

customs | They had to go to communion at least once a year. When they did so, the priest would give them a card and if they did not have a card the mothers would feel ashamed. Then the mothers would return the card to the priest along with a half dozen eggs. |
