festivals | In Mugiro the fiestas take place for Saint Peter. The flute-players from Estella would go there. The most famous fiestas in that district are in Lekunberri. Bt twelve o’ clock they would have to be at home at the latest. In Arruitz an accordion player would go from house to house playing. The music would start at five in the afternoon and go on until dinner time. Later, at ten or ten thirty, they would start up again in the square. As there were no cars then, the fiestas were the only occassion that all the family could get together. |

carnival: | The kids between twelve and sixteen years used to dress up in fancy dress and go from house to house asking for presents. The Carnival was better than the village fiestas. Nowadays they want to bring them back but it is different now because the young people have cars and in the old days they never would go outside the village. |
